All of our markers are injection molded from a highly engineered. space age, thermoplastic polymer, an extremely durable yet flexible material.

This allows the markers to fit against the human form comfortably yet remain intact during even the harshest motion capture sessions. The one piece design of our markers means that there are no fasteners to break or come loose. That, combined with the physical properties of the polymer material, means our markers are virtually indestructible!

HEMISPHERICAL MARKERS:

Hemispherical Markers are typically used to capture very detailed facial or hand & finger motion. Since they are applied directly to the skin, they are molded as hemispheres to allow adhesive to be applied to the flat surface for better skin contact. The fact that the motion they are used to measure can be very subtle means that the markers themselves must be very precise.

Our hemispherical markers are manufactured in a completely automated process to insure that one marker is the same as the next. These markers are true hemispheres measuring exactly half as high as their diameter.

The hemispherical markers are also available with a self adhesive backing allowing for ‘peel and stick’ application. This speeds up the ‘markering’ process by eliminating the need to apply adhesive to the marker or the capture subject. The markers have a paper backing that is simply peeled off prior to placing the marker on the subject. This is an excellent time saver on the day.

Hemispherical markers are available in 3mm and 4mm diameters. Custom sizes can be delivered as well.

INTEGRATED BASE MARKERS:

The most revolutionary design in motion capture history is MoCap Solution’s x-markerz. Our x-markerz are molded with an integrated 2”x 2” square base. This very thin square base can be configured to any shape after it’s been molded.
This allows markers to be customized for their locations on the subject, the type of captures, for anything!

x-markerzx-markerz can be built with Velcro bonded directly to them or without Velcro if direct skin contact is required. They are made from medical grade polymer (latex free) and are safe for medical applications.

As mentioned above, the x-markerz are molded as a single piece, there are no fasteners or glues to break or come loose in the middle of a session. We can appreciate the fact that a broken foot marker can ruin the perfect capture. The x-base design gives the Velcro the maximum grip and holding strength on a motion capture suit. The legs of the x-base can be wrapped around a subject’s wrist, their fingers, all the tough places that you want a marker placed. The x-markerz bases can be cut easily with a pair of scissors right on set if you need a more ‘custom’ fit. When used in conjunction with a MoCap Solutions motion capture suit , these markers simply DO NOT come off during a take! In fact, compared to markers that you may have used in the past, you will have to change the way you remove them at the end of the day .

x-markerz come in two distinct styles, stunt style and high profile style.

Stunt style is a lower profile motion capture marker with a hollow center. That combination makes for a very durable marker that is also very soft so that motions such as rolling on a hard floor won’t cause discomfort for motion capture actors. These markers can be used for any kind of capture, but are definitely recommended for moves involving high impact. The stunt style markers are currently available in 14mm diameter.

High profile markers provide a more spherical target. These markers are raised off of the molded base much higher than the stunt style markers. The greater stand off, spherical shape and larger marker diameter provide for capture at greater distances from the capture cameras. Large capture volumes can definitely benefit from the high profile markers.

PATCHES

If your capture session is highly interactive, and requires several motion capture actors to work aggressively together, the E-Z Patches will prevent x-markerz from transferring between actors during even the most interactive moves.

These patches are available in a variety of colors which helps to quickly identify actors on reference video.

When the markers need to be placed directly on the skin, forget about double sided tape trying to hold a marker in place! Simply choose the x-markerz without Velcro and use a skinz patch to adhere them to your subject.

Made from the same flexible and breathable material as fabric bandages, these patches are comfortable to wear and easy to remove while adhering directly to the skin. They have a self adhesive ‘peel and stick’ backing to make them extremely easy to use. Nothing holds a motion capture marker on skin better!

MOCAP SUITS

The most recent product from MoCap Solutions is our revolutionary new mocap suit, the z-suit. Made from a breathable, four way stretch, anti-microbial, polypropylene material…these suits a without a doubt the most comfortable suit ever to grace a mocap stage. With a soft inner lining, these suits are actually comfortable to wear! A nice change from the suits you have been forced to use in the past. This material stretches and sticks to Velcro, so there is no need for ‘relief’ panels to be sewn in to provide range of motion. This means that markers can be applied anywhere on the suit. Z-suits come in several sizes and can easily be customized to fit your specific needs.
